A bilingual professional site for a professor, obstetrician and court expertProf. MUDr. Jozef Záhumenský, PhD., MPH heads the II Gynaecology–Obstetrics Clinic of the Faculty of Medicine at Comenius University and the University Hospital in Bratislava. He is a practising obstetrician, a court expert in gynaecology and obstetrics, the author of two published obstetrics titles, and a regular voice in Slovak media on reproductive rights. All of it lived in scattered places — a hospital directory line, a blog, podcast feeds, a forensic-services listing. This site brings the whole career into one address, in Slovak and English.
What we were solving
Three audiences with almost nothing in common had to be served by one site. A pregnant woman deciding whether to seek a consultation needs warmth and plain language. A lawyer looking for a court expert in a malpractice case needs credentials, scope and a formal route to contact. A journalist needs a bio, a photograph and a fast way to reach him. Serving all three on one page usually produces a site that serves none of them — and academic authority, rendered carelessly, reads as either cold or self-important.
How we solved it
We built eight pages, each aimed at one of those audiences, and let the navigation do the sorting: consultations and the clinic for patients, the court-expert page for the legal profession, publications and media for press and peers. The design carries the authority without raising its voice — a serif display face, a restrained palette, generous space — and the homepage leads with the man rather than his titles, opening on his own line about humour and analgesia. The media page pulls thirty years of appearances into one place. Everything ships in Slovak and English from a single build, measured pixel-for-pixel against the original Figma frames.
